Internationalisation
The BGHS supports the internationalisation of doctoral training and focuses attention on the internationality of its members.
Study programme
The study programme can also be completed without knowledge of German. Approximately one third of the courses of the study programme are offered in English. Since it is nevertheless advantageous to learn German, PunktUm, the Bielefeld University's Language Support Programme offers German courses.
Information
The BGHS office publishes all information in German and English, for example on the homepage and in the Newsletter. The business languages are German and English.
Advice
Two doctoral student representatives are available in particular to support international doctoral students.
The BGHS office offers comprehensive advice for international applicants regarding study places and works closely with the Welcome Centre at Bielefeld University. The BGHS office also provides advice on mobility grants for stays abroad. Applicants for international joint projects, e.g. international DFG research training groups, EU projects, etc., can also find advice at the BGHS office.
